December 1-9, 2008: Brainswork Consultant Muhamed Mesic will join Mayor Jasmin Imamovic of Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina for a series of talks and meetings in the United States. Mesic, who has served on the Tuzla City Council and has been an Advisor to the Mayor since his election in 2001, will accompany Mayor Imamovic to share the Tuzla experience of innovative city policy and sustainable development with students at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, as well as representatives of the World Bank. Brainswork has worked with the City of Tuzla on a variety of projects, including creative industries development.

Nobel Peace Prize goes to Martti Ahtisaari
The Brainswork Network wishes to sincerely congratulate former President of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari, on winning this year's Nobel Peace Prize. President Ahtisaari – seen here addressing the Balkans Youth Forum together with Brainswork international relations consultant Muhamed Mesic – believes in compromise, sustainability and respect for and in diversity: much the same change processes Brainswork is working to achieve throughout the world. We sincerely hope that Mr. Ahtisaari's award is a signal of the broader global commitment to solving yesterday's conflicts today, in order to be able to face tomorrow's challenges together.

November 18, 2008 “Kristallnacht” Anniversary in Paris: Brainswork Consultant Muhamed Mesic will join a seminar organized on November 18 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris by the Centre Simon Wiesenthal Europe to commemorate the 70 th anniversary of the “Kristallnacht” Nazi pogrom, which will reflect the importance of this event in understanding the Holocaust as well as the crimes against humanity in today's world. Apart from Muhamed Mesic, the programme includes exciting speakers from various fields, such as Sir Martin Gilbert, official biographer of Sir Winston Churchill, and UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura.

On January 27, 2008, the University of Sarajevo and the Jewish Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina will mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day by hosting an international roundtable discussion at the Institute for the Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, at which Brainswork Senior Consultant, Muhamed Mesic, will give keynote remarks on "social cohesion for survival" - how non-Jews in Bosnia and Denmark worked in an coordinated effort to save the lives of their Jewish neighbours. Mesic, who combines social networking research and conflict studies, has spoken on this topic at Universities on three continents.

October 15, 2007: Muhamed Mesic, Senior Consultant on Sustainable Development to the Brainswork Group, has been awarded an Echenberg  Fellowship on occasion of the Global Conference on Human Rights, hosted by McGill University  in Montréal, Québec, Canada. This year's conference topic was the prevention on genocide and saw Muhamed and 35 other young leaders in law, politics, and international development join the leaders of today in a global effort to promote human rights and prevent genocide and other abuses in the international arena.

June 13, 2007: T he beaches Slatina, Lido and Tomasevac in Opatija, as well as Peharovo and Kvarner in Lovran - all operated by Brainswork-client Rivijera –were awarded with the "blue flag". The "blue flag" works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.
